Pair of top-10 finishes for Taylor in Wimp Reed Spring Nationals
Jeff Taylor raced at his home track of Batesville Motor Speedway over the weekend and scored a best finish of third in the IMCA Modified class.
On Friday, the first night of the Wimp Reed Spring Nationals brought Taylor and 22 other Modified competitors to the 3/8-mile track in Locust Grove, Arkansas. Taylor drove his Skyway Auto Group No. 5 car to the runner-up result in his heat race, starting him sixth in the night’s 31-lap, $1,500-to-win main event. He climbed three positions to finish third, completing the podium behind Grayson Moore and Brandon Smith. Curtis Cook took fourth and Roger Witt came home fifth.
The next night, 26 IMCA Modifieds were in the Batesville pits for another $1,500-to-win program. Taylor was third in his heat, then started 10th in the 31-lap feature and ran as high as fourth before ultimately finishing in the eighth spot.
