Jeff Taylor triumphs at Southern Oklahoma
“The Animal” Jeff Taylor grabbed his first feature win of the year on Saturday when he bested a 31-car IMCA Modified field in the season-opener at Ardmore, Oklahoma’s Southern Oklahoma Speedway.
Taylor began his evening in the Sooner State by driving his No. 5 Modified from fourth to take the checkered flag in his heat race on the 3/8-mile oval. He then rolled off eighth to start the 20-lap main event and took over the top spot on the sixth circuit. He remained out front the rest of the way and crossed the start-finish line 2.201 seconds ahead of David Tanner.
Third place went to Beau Collins, with Kyle Robinson and Tate Butler finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
