Taylor picks up podium finish during Race for Hope 71 weekend
Batesville Motor Speedway closed out its 2025 season during the second weekend in October with the ninth annual Race for Hope 71. Jeff Taylor returned to his home track in Locust Grove, Arkansas, for three nights of IMCA Modified racing and claimed two top-10 results.
Thirty-eight Modifieds were entered at the 3/8-mile track each night. A $3,000 winner’s share was on the line on Thursday and Friday, while Saturday saw the top prize elevated to $4,000.
Taylor kicked off the event with a fifth-to-second run in his HTS No. 5 machine on Thursday evening. He started sixth in the 30-lap feature and finished third, rounding out the podium behind Wendell Wallace and Tim Ward. Brandon Smith and Peyton Taylor completed the top five.
On Friday, Taylor again finished as runner-up in his heat, this time picking up two spots to do so. He rolled off 10th to begin the 30-lap feature and turned in a 12th-place result.
During Saturday’s finale, Taylor charged from seventh to second in his heat race, starting him a strong third in the 40-lap main event. He came home in sixth position.
