Jeff Taylor grabs win in Jordan Page Winter Nationals
Ardmore, Oklahoma’s Southern Oklahoma Speedway saw Jeff Taylor visit victory lane at the track for the second time in three weeks on Saturday evening.
The 21st annual Jordan Page Winter Nationals kicked off on Friday with 33 IMCA Modifieds in the pits at the 3/8-mile speed plant, including Taylor’s No. 5 machine. Taylor won his first heat race of the night from the pole, then charged from 11th to take the checkered flag in his second heat.
After a frisbee toss determined the first four rows for Saturday's feature, Taylor rolled off seventh in the 30-lapper. In a race that featured three- and four-wide competition, he took the lead with eight laps remaining and stayed out front the rest of the way to score the $2,5000 victory, 3.956 seconds ahead of William Gould. Third place went to Owen Barnhill, with Tate Butler and Chad Reid rounding out the top five.
Taylor’s feature triumph was his fifth overall this season.
