Taylor battles in Red Clay Classic
Jeff Taylor raced in the Badger State on the last weekend of September, taking on the 50th Red Clay Classic at the 3/8-mile ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin.
When festivities got underway on Friday, Taylor piloted his No. 5 ride in the 67-car WISSOTA Modified division, and he was behind the wheel of the No. 11 machine in the 74-car WISSOTA Midwest Mods program.
Taylor raced from ninth to fifth in his Modified heat race on Friday, then both started and finished fourth in his B-Main the next day. As a result, his night came to a close before the 40-lap, $10,000-to-win feature.
In the Midwest Mods. Taylor suffered a DNF in his heat on Friday evening, but charged from 17th to third in his B-Main the following night. However, he missed a transfer spot into the main event by one position. As a result, he participated in the Last Chance Race. He started third and registered a sixth-place result with a DNF, ending his event shy of the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win finale.
