Taylor takes runner-up finish at Central Arizona Raceway
Jeff Taylor returned to Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona, on Friday evening for the first night of the inaugural Arizona IMCA Tour. His Shaw Race Cars No. 5 IMCA Modified was among 13 in the class at the 3/8-mile, high-banked clay oval.
Taylor steered to a second-place finish in his heat race, starting him sixth in the 20-lap main event. He picked up four spots in the $1,000-to-win race and crossed under the checkered flag 6.844 seconds behind winner Troy Morris III. Third place went to Chaz Baca, with William Miller taking the fourth spot and Billy Maxwell coming home fifth.
Saturday’s slated $1,000-to-win show was rained out.
